Located in San Francisco Bay, the city of Vacaville (sometimes called “Golden Hills”) is about halfway between Sacramento and San Francisco. For tourists, there is plenty to do in this sunny spot. The city holds yearly Vacaville Fiesta Days, which boasts a parade with the local schools’ marching bands, gymnasts, and an electric car showcase.

For more family-friendliness, kids will enjoy The Nut Tree, which is home to a train for children and a life-size checkerboard, with plenty of dining and shopping options for adults. And for the shopping enthusiasts, visitors can visit the Vacaville Premium Outlets for bargains in 120 stores.

Don’t miss Downtown Vacaville, which offers a seasonal farmer’s market, a playground, top-notch dining, and Creekwalk–a venue which often holds concert series.

Christmas-time is a big celebration in Vacaville. The city has an annual Festival of Trees in its local ice-skating rink. Vacaville residents hold the Tree Lighting Ceremony, and enjoy music, hot chocolate, and horse-drawn carriage rides.

For recreation, Lagoon Valley Lake and the Pena Adobe Regional Park are great for fishing, hiking, or just getting some fresh air and beautiful views.

Vacaville California has a perfect combination of attributes making it the most fun small town in America. With fast freeway access, it is located perfectly between the Bay Area and Sacramento, both offering an abundance of diverse activities including, the ocean and mountains, plus the bay and many fine rivers for fishing. We routinely drive our picturesque back mountain roads north of town for Sunday drives to the wine country and Lake Berryessa, a perfect and popular water skiing lake. These same roads are a strong draw for the bicycling set as well. You will find many affable people at the local golf course. The town is very well organized with almost monthly activities throughout the year in our refurbished quaint old town and park area. These events are attended by a very diverse crowd who love to socialize, dance, shop and listen to the home town bands. Its so nice to have strangers at these events, on the side walk, park, or grocery stores acknowledge your existence by saying hi. I've always had the feeling that the people of Vacaville have strong morals and values like you think about with old town America, but the town is not stuffy, it is the opposite and includes many fine unique establishments providing just enough night life that the youth actually stick around to raise their family. As the kids age we have a great recreation department making for many youth sports leagues with a strong local following of high school sports as well. We even have a ice skating rink! Travis Air Force base is just down the road and per capita there are many churches in this fine town, this along with a strong since of community pride make for a safe town as well. Lastly the yearly weather offers a noticeable change in seasons with out all the extremes so the outdoor types are forced inside just long enough to recoup, but not feel closter phobic. I did much research before I moved my family here, and I know we have a heck of a lot of FUN in Vacaville! Success!

Vacaville is an all around great town. Friendly, small town feel, but still plenty to do. Great location. Lots of community activities year-round.

This is a small town with a huge heart...hugely supportive of all the arts, both public and private. There is something, actually many somethings, going on every single day. And bringing good traffic to the small businesses here. That's fun for everyone!
