Rapid City, SD hosts both Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, two must-see national landmarks. The town is as beautiful as it is patriotic, surrounded by the Black Hills, and is the home of Ellsworth AFB.

For a combination of history and beauty take in the scenery on Skyline Drive and visit the Berlin Wall exhibit, the Chapel in the Hills, the Badlands, and bronze statues of all of America’s presidents.

Visitors should take advantage of Downtown Rapid City. In addition to shopping and dining, the area is the Black Hills’ hub for local and regional art. Museums, numerous galleries, and a historic theatre are all located within a few blocks of each other downtown.

Rapid City SD is a most perfect blend of progressive thought and historic past. Looking forward into the future while honoring and building upon the rich past brings an individual to their own personal spiritual/emotional rhythm of life.

rapid city is great because we have access to any service or recreation that we could desire, and within minutes of travel time from some of the greatest monuments known to America.

Rapid City is the gateway to the Black Hills. I was born and raised in Rapid City and moved away 30 years ago. I make it a point to go back at least once a year. Rapid City over the years has evolved and grown into a great place to visit. Downtown has developed into a very attractive and comfortable destination. There are so many area's of town that have something to offer in views of the hills. I still miss it even after all of these years.

Rapid City has all of your big city attractions with a small town feel. It is the gateway to the Black Hills of South Dakota. It captures the patriotic mood of Mount Rushmore throughout the town. It is a great place to live and to visit. I love this town!
