We have lived in many areas of the country as has our family, and we all agree that Jefferson City is the most beautiful city. Every day I am privileged to see our state capitol and have not lost the feeling of awe I first saw it 9 years ago when we moved here. Driving into Jefferson City across the bridge - what a beautiful sight! Nestled in the rolling hills of the Ozarks and bordered by the Missouri River, Jefferson City is blessed by nature. There is so much character in this city - from historical buildings to the modern - nothing seems "cookie cutter." We are also blessed to have so many nice parks and our nature/walking/biking trails are some of the best in the entire nation. Outdoor cafes, beautiful flowers & shrubs, wildflowers along our highways - all enhance the beauty of the city. No two neighborhoods are alike - Jefferson City has beauty and character. We are not enveloped in concrete as some cities are! Each day I discover a new beauty in this city and each day I grow to love it more and more. It truly is the best of the road - and the most beautiful!!!

Jefferson City is a gorgeous mid sized city on the Missouri River. The state capital building is almost exactly like the one In Washington DC and our Governor's mansion and garden along with Lewis and Clark and other downtown monuments lead you directly into some historic buildings in downtown. It is a beautiful area with lots of trails and greenway including the Katy Trail. Everywhere you look there is beauty to be found. We are extremely proud to call it OUR town.

Jefferson City has some great greenway trails conveniently located close to most neighborhoods. The downtown area just gets better and better. The downtown festival district features some awesome and free family friendly events. There are some great restaurants for just about any taste, most offer sidewalk seating so you can enjoy the beautiful, bustling downtown area. Jefferson City is a great place to live and work!

I was born and raised in Jefferson City, Missouri. But, after high school I decided to go out and explore the world to see what it had to offer. I have lived in many different places all the way from Northern Idaho to Sourthern Texas and I have always come back home. I am now 40 with two beautiful children. I couldn't imagine raising them in any other place but Jefferson City. From the beautiful changing of the seasons,to all the natural beauty of the parks and rivers around Jefferson City; this is home. There is so much history and beauty here and I love shairing it. Come visit Jefferson City and see what we have to offer!

Jefferson City is the "most beautiful" small town in America. Beyond just the Capitol and Governor's Mansion, Jefferson City's Downtown area is a gem. It retains all the charm of a historic main street but offers the amenities of a truly loved city core - beautiful flowers, inviting benches, outdoor tables for dining and the like. In addition, our neighborhoods are a treasure. Mine, in particular, sits adjacent to the river. Before we even entered the contest, I started writing about why I LOVE my neighborhood and why I think it is the most beautiful neighborhood in our city.
