A quaint, friendly town on the beatiful Gulf coast. Downtown Bradenton is home to a growing arts and culture scene with its community theater, museum/planetarium/aquarium, historic village, arts district and Hernando DeSoto Society. Bradenton has been the spring training home of the Pittsburgh Pirates since 1969; The Major League team and its new minor league team play at picturesque McKechnie Field, which was built in 1923. The Manatee River flows past downtown, which has a thriving nightlife on Old Main Street with a variety of Irish pubs, a cigar bar and restaurants.

Sunrises and sunsets from the downtown pier are spectacular. There are many activities in the downtown area including Segway tours and boat rides to take advantage of this beautiful city on the water. Watch the sailboats come and go from the restaurant located at the end of the marina/pier. Stroll the Art Walk area or just people watch from the bars and restaurants. There is outdoor seating for those perfect nights outside. A lovely city!

Bradenton is a city with a welcoming home town feel and cost, yet offers a state of the art Planetarium, galleries galore in Village of the Arts, awe-inspiring walks, bike rides, cruises along the Manatee River, and fun restaurants and pubs to feed the body as well as the spirit. Regional theatre, history and nature stops all delight the palette. The sun shines continually except for momentary rain which waters the ever blooming foliage. Easy access to the Gulf, other communities, but you find yourself returning to Bradenton with a grateful sigh.
