Punta Gorda takes your breath away in so many ways: The gorgeous sunsets at Ponce Park, the calm waters of Charlotte Harbor, the beautiful parks that dot the city, the gorgeous holiday decorations and dazzling lighted boat parades, the wildlife that is just a part of everyday life, the smiles and hellos of the friendly walkers each morning, the amazing tribute to a fallen law enforcement officer, the outstanding spirit of volunteerism and commitment to those less fortunate, the community pride, the sense of fun that surrounds the annual block party and monthly gallery walks, and so much more! Every time I cross the US 41 bridge heading home to Punta Gorda, it takes my breath away because I realize how lucky I am to live in such a magical place.

I live here year-round. Punta Gorda is a boating, kayaking, fishing paradise! I can't understand why others choose to leave for the summer. It's the best time to be in Punta Gorda! As sailors, we know why Charlotte Harbor was voted one of the best places in the world to sail. We've found our "forever home". Will someone please change the photo above? It doesn't really represent the beauty of Punta Gorda...

We bought our home in Punta Gorda in 2001 and finally moved here in 2006. I have loved it since the day we moved in. Punta Gorda has a sense of small town charm, while still being a nice classy place to live. We have a gorgeous harbor that is by far the best sailing in the USA. Our culinary is amazing, culture fantastic and our town offers a healthy and active lifestyle. That's why Punta Gorda is the BEST city in Florida!
