Punta Gorda is one of the few towns you will ever visit that offers outstanding sailing, world class fishing, and the most beautiful scenery in Florida. The small town friendly atmosphere and charm is why this town deserves to win THE BEST.

Punta Gorda is the most wonderful form of addiction you could ever hope to have. Once you've been here for the first time, you can't resist having to return again and again to get your next "fix" of paradise. And for those of us who came here and got "irreversibly hooked," it seems just too good to be legal! I've never before lived in a community where it felt like I was away on vacation every day of the year. In the 20 years I've lived here so far, I've had no desire to go someplace else for a vacation because there's no other place I can think of that can be so beautiful and also so friendly. Wild horses couldn't pull me away from this community! AND ... although there's no category for this, Punta Gorda is, by far, one of the most outstanding communities when it comes to volunteerism and community-based nonprofits. We place a high value on taking care of one another in the community so all can partake of the exceptional quality of life that prevails in this paradise we call Punta Gorda.

A truly beautiful ,caring town that recovered and rebuilt after a horrendous hurricane in 2004 because of its courage and the great heart of all its people All the people are important and cared about.

This is a beautiful town filled with beautiful caring people. With the devastation of Hurricane Charley and with people with out a place to live everyone helped out. This town pulled together. I was one of those that had no home after the storm and lucky enough to have a neighbor open their home to us for several months. That tells you what kind of place Punta Gorda is...it's Paradise!
