The oldest town in Texas lives by the mantra “Keep Nacogdoches Friendly,” with businesses embracing hospitality training to become Texas Certified Friendly even. The community is so small the mayor is also the local dentist, and everyone’s approachable.

Visitors can explore Millard’s Crossing historic village, Lake Nacogdoches, or Lanana Creek Trail. Most notably, Nacogdoches is home to Stephen F. Austin State University and serves as a warm welcome for students away from home.

Local favorites include the Saturday farmer’s market and The Blueberry Place, where you can pick your own blueberries right off the vine and leave payment in a basket on the honor system. Visitors are encouraged to experience historic local bed and breakfasts, stroll the nature trails, and browse antiques while in town.

In Nacogdoches, you'll always find a friendly place! They have bars where everybody knows your name, and everyone greets you with southern hospitality. I'm from a big city, so a small, friendly town like Nacogdoches is a refreshing change!

Nacogdoches is a small town with a big heart. The folks here are sincerely friendly. This a college town, so there are lots of things to do and places to go, something for everyone. From the brick streets of downtown, the beautiful gardens at SFAU, LaNana Creek Trail and many parks, this beautiful East Texas town is a must see! Blueberry festival in early June and a Rodeo at the Expo center the first monday of every month - where you can watch the kids ride sheep as well as the big boys riding the bulls! Country living at it's best!

This historic town of Texas as a lot to offer within its city limits and beyond. Nestled in an arrangement of pine trees the Main Street foundation has found ways for the community to have organized involvement weekly. With the college, the town of Nacogdoches can offer you the friendliest people you can find in Texas!
