We moved to Arvada from a little town in New England and were delighted after a long search to find a small town that gave us all the warm welcoming feelings that our little town back east gave us.... we love the fact that we are only 7miles west of downtown Denver, for all the big museums and happenings yet are living in a town where everyone knows your name and welcome our pets. WE love all the great seasonal festivals and happenings in this town and we love walking around in the early evening in a place we feel so safe.

I love living in Arvada because within its borders, I can time-travel. Not far from where I live, Native Americans once followed well-worn game trails to the foothills. I can see those foothills from my front door. I can walk or bike to Gold Strike Park along the creek where Lewis Ralston first dipped a gold pan and came up with five bucks' worth of the noble metal. I can follow the creek and learn the intricacy of our riparian areas—wetlands critical to the health of our semiarid desert. I can visit the present in our rejuvenated Olde Town. Enjoy a cuppa at La Dolce Vita coffee shop. Visit the Book Cranny. Stroll along the streets and browse for antiques. Visit a new boutique or the library. Sit a while in the square and people-watch. Maybe stop in and place an order of Belgian frites along the way, to be delivered around the corner to the Arvada Brewery, where I can test-taste an “Old Town Brown” ale. In any given season I can enjoy a farmer's market, a festival, an old-fashioned parade, a brass band concert in the park, or blues 'n barbecue. I can help out with the community food bank nearby. I can stroll through Majestic View Park and see if I can, by using the picture plaque, memorize the names of all the peaks visible along the Front Range. Arvada is not my hometown, but one of my hobbies is learning to become semi-native to this place. I venture into the past, the present, and the future, like any good explorer!

It's not just the majestic views or the charming ambiance of Olde Town that make Arvada beautiful! It's the people!

No matter the season or the neighborhood, Arvada is ‘easy on the eyes’! From its gorgeous parks, to its panoramic open spaces with majestic views of the towering Rockies, to its quaint yet thriving historic Olde Town, Arvada is the epitome of a town that shines with beauty. It has done a fantastic job of honoring and building on its historical roots, while embracing its exciting future, and safeguarding the beauty of its natural spaces. Favorite memories: strolling Olde Town on a summer eve, (or taking a horse carriage in the winter!), walking along a creek bank enjoying the ducks and birds, viewing the snow-capped mountains from my deck, enjoying a concert under the stars at the amphitheater. Love this city!
