Locals also boast of great produce from farmer’s markets to fruit stands and cheese farms. Visalia’s known for world famous sweet oranges and offers varied agriculturally themed tours.

Visalia is a small and friendly city surrounded by farms and dairies with the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains in view. Visalia has a vibrant art and music scene, even a professional Symphony Orchestra, Downtown has been preserved and is the loveliest downtown in the San Joaquin Valley. Visalia is a great place to learn about local farming and local fruit. There is a great Farmers Market every Saturday and Thursday with wonderful produce. It is very easy to find fruit stands all around the city. I have never eaten sweeter strawberries! I love the way the restaurants make use of the various produce grown locally. At the Vintage Press, we had had blood-orange ice cream directly from the orchard! Nothing can beat that.

Visalia has done great things expanding itself into the gourmet restaurant market...specifically the Vintage Press and Jack and charlies. We love the service and fabulous menus!

Visalia has an excellent variety of gourmet food for all your taste buds. Old Town on Main St. has a wonderful atmosphere that makes your dining experience even more enjoyable. Visit Jack and Charlie's for some excellent cuisine and cocktails and The Cellar Door for great appetizers, good music, and easy lounging.
