Rapid City, SD hosts both Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, two must-see national landmarks. The town is as beautiful as it is patriotic, surrounded by the Black Hills, and is the home of Ellsworth AFB.

For a combination of history and beauty take in the scenery on Skyline Drive and visit the Berlin Wall exhibit, the Chapel in the Hills, the Badlands, and bronze statues of all of America’s presidents.

Visitors should take advantage of Downtown Rapid City. In addition to shopping and dining, the area is the Black Hills’ hub for local and regional art. Museums, numerous galleries, and a historic theatre are all located within a few blocks of each other downtown.

I love Rapid City, SD! There is just something very magical and alluring about it. I always get a sense of healing when I go there! The tempertures are moderate, even in the winter! It is the banana belt of South Dakota! The town sits on the edge of the Black Hills which means fantastic scenery along with some of the best areas for outdoor recreation. I'm always suggesting friends to go their and visit. I know they won't be dissapointed.

Rapid City has by far the best customer service of any destination I have been to. I was helped by a gentleman the other day at a downtown hotel and he was so incredibly informed and knowledgeable of the the area. He truly cared about his customer and job, I've seen it at many places I go to in Rapid City. Love the town, love the restaurants, love the people. Vote for Rapid City!

I was raised in Rapid City and have traveled around this counrty a bit, and still find that there is no placelike home!! I now live in Montana and even thought there are majestic views, there is not the spiritual connection as is Rapid City.
