The oldest town in Texas lives by the mantra “Keep Nacogdoches Friendly,” with businesses embracing hospitality training to become Texas Certified Friendly even. The community is so small the mayor is also the local dentist, and everyone’s approachable.

Visitors can explore Millard’s Crossing historic village, Lake Nacogdoches, or Lanana Creek Trail. Most notably, Nacogdoches is home to Stephen F. Austin State University and serves as a warm welcome for students away from home.

Local favorites include the Saturday farmer’s market and The Blueberry Place, where you can pick your own blueberries right off the vine and leave payment in a basket on the honor system. Visitors are encouraged to experience historic local bed and breakfasts, stroll the nature trails, and browse antiques while in town.

Great town. Great people. Definitely the friendliest town in the country. Stop by and we'll prove it.

I have lived since I was a kid and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. If you get a chance while visiting us, go to Jazz on the Patio at our Historic Fredonia Hotel. They also have great comedy shows. In June you can enjoy our Bluberry Festval. Du During April you can see the largest ,most breath taking Azalea Garden anywhere. No I don't work for the city. I simply love our town that much. I don't want to finish without mentioning Stephen F. Austin State Univ. Please visit and you'll see why I believe we're the friendliest Town.

I was born and raised in Nacogdoches. I have traveled many places with my job and have never experienced another town quite like Nacogdoches. When the time comes this is where I will raise my kids and settle.
