Description

The Mississippi River, the second longest river in the United States, travels 2,340 miles from Lake Itasca in Minnesota and empties into the Gulf of Mexico. Travel along the Mississippi River in this tour through the great Midwestern states of Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. Launch your trip from La Crosse, Wisconsin, where you can cruise the Mississippi on the La Crosse Queen, an authentic paddle wheeler and one of few still in operation today. Continue south to Galena, Illinois, where you can tour the home of Civil War General Ulysses S. Grant before heading further south to the Quad Cities. Four metropolises make up the Quad Cities including Moline and Rock Island, Illinois, Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa. In Moline, be sure to visit Arsenal Island, the largest manufacturer of ammunition and firearms in the United States.
