Smoky Mountain visitors will find the heart of mountain culture in expertly interpreted outdoor rambles, down-home restaurants, and artisanal shopping throughout Tennessee's winding, wispy hills. Begin your Tennessee vacation at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge. See a live bluegrass or mountain music show and watch blacksmiths and other master craftsmen at work. While in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, you can sit down to country cooking at Old Mill Restaurant or Pottery House Restaurant. Both are known for baked goods made from flour and cornmeal ground at the 1830 Old Mill. Head south to Just Get Outdoors, in Sevierville, Tennessee, for a customized interpretive hike led by a trained naturalist and wildlife biologist. Stay at the elegant Blackberry Farm resort in Walland, Tennessee, near the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Then travel to Knoxville, Tennessee, for a visit to the Knoxville Zoo. Conclude your road trip north in Norris, Tennessee, where you can see 35 authentic log cabins at the Museum of Appalachia.
