Located in the southeastern corner of Minnesota, the modest city of Rochester is often touted as one of the United States' most livable towns. So, what's all the fuss about? Of course, this is the home of the Mayo Clinic, so medical service is world-class. The standard of living is good, the schools excellent and the crime rate low. And it's an attractive town with parks, the Zumbro River meandering through downtown, and interesting architecture. Maybe the biggest drawback is the weather, but a system of pedestrian tunnels and skyways connecting downtown buildings helps to deal with harsh conditions. It's an easy trip from Minneapolis/St. Paul and from the capitals of Wisconsin and Iowa as well. So, let's take a drive over and check it out.
