This tour explores the Empire State's 11 long, finger-shaped lakes formed by glaciers. Start at Taughannock Falls, where a drop of 215 feet makes it one of the highest waterfalls east of the Rocky Mountains. Pay your respects to writer Mark Twain and his wife, Olivia Langdon, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Elmira, one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world. Spend a day at the Corning Museum of Glass and see live, narrated, glassmaking demonstrations or make your own glass creation. The museum features a display of this 3,500-year-old tradition and contains the world's most spectacular collection of glass. The Finger Lakes region prides itself on the largest collection of wineries outside of California's Napa Valley wine country. Take a self-guided tour of the Wagner Winery in Watkins Glen, recognized world-wide for the quality of their wine.
