This tour will lead you from Edmonton, the capital of Alberta, and wind north to the capital of the Northwest Territories, Yellowknife, located on the north shore of the Great Slave Lake. Shopaholics begin their trip at the West Edmonton Mall, the world's largest indoor shopping center. Mall parking is able to accommodate 20,000 cars, and patrons can enjoy more than 800 stores, an amusement park complete with a roller coaster, a water park, and experience re-creations of major partying streets from cities around the world. Continue north to Enterprise and relish in the view of the waterfalls on the Hay River. Next head northwest and cross the Mackenzie River via a free ferry, if you happen to travel during the winter, you will drive across the ice. Mackenzie is the longest waterway in Canada and connects the Great Slave Lake to the Beaufort Sea in the Arctic Ocean. Finish at the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Center in Yellowknife to gander at interesting cultural relics and wildlife exhibits.
