Description

This drive through the obtuse angle of Nevada and California shows off all of earth’s dramatic tones. The earnest brown of the high desert in Reno, Virginia City, and Carson City plays host to memories of mining and railroads. The route then sinks into a deep blue and green panorama at Lake Tahoe, circling from Incline Village to the north, along the west side of the lake through Homewood and Emerald Bay, and around to South Lake Tahoe. Meandering south through the Sierra Nevada, the journey continues along the Tioga Pass* and on to the towering white and gray bluffs in Yosemite National Park. The trip culminates further south in Madera County, decorated with the red, soaring sequoias of the Sierra National Forest.
