Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian

Description

Housed in a building resembling the traditional eight-sided Navajo hooghan, this free museum exhibits contemporary and historical American Indian art with an emphasis on the cultures of the Southwest. Downstairs is the Case Trading Post, the museum gift shop, which is a working replica of a turn-of-the-century trading post. Demonstrations and activities for kids are regularly scheduled. During the summer, storytellers entertain on weekend evenings, and in the fall you can join the children's pow-wow.
