Watoga State Park

This mountainous park covers over 10,100 acres. There are forty miles of hiking trails and separate skiing trails. The park maintains rental cabins, campgrounds with campsites (some with electric hookups and others suitable for trailers), and a swimming pool. Handicapped-accessible sites and facilities are available. Reservations are required for the cabins. Activities include tennis, hiking, and horseback riding. No hunting is allowed. A naturalist is on duty during the summer. The park is open year-round, but the campgrounds are open only from April through the end of November. Call the park for specific opening and closing dates. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted, but not inside the cabins. Reservations: West Virginia has a central reservation phone number for all state campgrounds: 800-225-5982 (800-CALL-WVA). There is a nonrefundable fee for each reservation made.
