Waterford Village


Waterford is named for the fording place in the river between the village and Peebles Island. Incorporated in March 1794 The Village of Waterford is the oldest continuously incorporated village in the U S. Broad Street is reminiscent of many New England village Main Streets. Waterford is known for its Federal brick buildings with squared-off gable ends, commonly referred to as Waterford gables. The Greek revival and Victorian styles are also prevalent.
