The Siege Museum

During the Civil War, Petersburg endured the longest siege in American history (June 1864-April 1865) as General Grant's Union forces encircled the city for ten months in the crucial final stages of the war. This museum commemorates the struggle of a citizenry that saw its well-to-do lifestyle crumble into the bitter dust of desperation. The museum is located at 15 W. Bank Street. It's open daily from 10 AM to 5 PM. (804-733-2404)
