The Hermitage

Description

This interactive museum tells the story of how America's seventh president, Andrew Jackson, built a 1,100-acre plantation from frontier forest. Costumed interpreters take visitors through the family mansion, formal garden, slave quarters, and the Jacksons' original 1804 log cabin. Special exhibits highlight life stories of the 150 slaves who worked the plantation.
