The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center
The Mississippi Delta is filled with blues museums, but this one ranks at the top. Well-designed, multimedia exhibits tell the story of B.B. King’s remarkable life and times. Highlights include his beloved guitar, Lucille; his home recording studio; and, adjoining the museum, an old brick cotton gin where he worked in the 1940s. The Interpretive Center includes insights into the cotton fields, street corners, and juke joints that spawned the Mississippi Delta’s contribution to world music: the blues.
