South Fork Indian Reservation

Description

Named for its location at the south fork of the Humboldt River near Elko, Nevada, this 17,000-acre Indian Reservation combines the Odgers Ranch Indian Reservation, the Ruby Valley, and the base reservation. The range is agricultural and largely used for cattle grazing while the Tribal land base hosts residential and community use. The 260-member Te-Moak Tribe of the Western Shoshone are mostly ranchers and farmers. Children in the tribe attend schools in Elko or Spring Creek.
