San Diego Natural History Museum

Description

This is the place to be if you'd like to know what's living in the ocean or moving on the land from Point Conception (near Santa Barbara) to Cabo San Lucas down south, from the Pacific's trenches to the San Andreas fault. If you prefer the big picture, exciting traveling exhibits feature natural history of a global scope. For those who appreciate comfy chairs and really big pictures, a giant-screen theatre brings southern California's outdoor offerings up close. Stop by the museum's gift store for visual entertainment on a smaller scale. You'll find everything at Balboa Park off Pershing and Hwy 5.
