This Romanesque style church was built in 1906, dedicated in 1908, and granted basilica status in 2008. Originally conceived by an 1851 order from the Mexican government, the church's historically significant bells have lasted since the 1870s.The structure began with an adobe style and was reconstructed in a French-European style in the 1850s. The basilica currently hosts daily masses and a variety of other events, educational programs, and ministries.
