Saint John City Market

The Old City Market, which opened in 1876, is a full city block market on Charlotte Street, which once was the primary selling point for cattle, wool, fish, and horses. Today, the market is known as St. John's City Market, and is divided into four areas: a fish market on Water Street, the Country Market, the Sydney Market, and the Haymarket in King Square. At both entrances, visitors can see the same iron gates that have been there 1880. Notable shops and cafes at the St. John's City Market include Olivier Soapery, Hodo Cookies, the Winegarden Estate and Pete's Frootique.
