Puppetry Arts Institute

The Puppetry Arts Institute opened in Englewood (Independence, Mo) in 2001, establishing a facility that contains a museum, puppet theater and workshop area. A puppet research library, and puppet repair services are also available.Monthly puppet shows which feature national and international puppeteers take place on site, as well as traveling puppet shows developed by the Puppetry Arts Institute in-house artists. The museum tour features marionettes from the bygone Hazelle Rollins puppet factory, a room displaying puppets from around the world, as well as a main exhibit which rotates annually. A charming gift shop is available at the front of the store with quality puppets and souvenirs for all. The Puppetry Arts Institute is a 501(c)3 organization. Our Mission: To preserve and promote puppetry through education and entertainment for all ages.
