North Carolina Botanical Garden

Description

This 700-acre forested landscape is one of the Southeast's biggest botanical reserves; you'll find more than two miles of trails winding through the forest. There is also a fascinating plant and herb collection that features native Southeastern plants displayed in natural habitat gardens. There are formal display gardens as well as natural areas and nature trails. Located just south of town, this is a great place to begin your visit to Chapel Hill. Admission is free; call for hours of operation.
