Natural Bridges State Beach

Description

While only one of the three original sandstone arches remains, this is still very photo-worthy. So are the whales, seals, sea otters, and birds that you might spot off, on, or above the shore. In addition, tidal pools are home to starfish, crabs, and other marine life. The most unique feature, though, is Monarch Grove, a preserve that’s home to hundreds of thousands of monarch butterflies from mid-October to early February. Stop by the visitors center to learn more about butterflies—and other area flora and fauna—and to arrange docent-led nature tours and trail hikes. Other amenities include picnic tables, barbecues, and restrooms.
