Nathan Hale Schoolhouse

Description

In 1773, 18-year-old Nathan Hale (already a Yale graduate) spent five months teaching at this one-room schoolhouse (circa 1750). When the Revolution began, Hale joined the Continental Army. In 1776, while spying in New York City, he was captured and executed by the British. His last words were, “I only regret that I have but one life to give for my country.” Great words to ponder while touring the restored schoolhouse, complete with authentic desks, tools, and tables.
