Museums of Western Colorado

Description

Grand Junction is home to the Museum of the West (462 Ute Ave., 970/242-0971,), where exhibits highlight 1,000 years of history—from the ancient Anasazi and other tribes to old-west outlaws—and the Cross Orchards Historic Site (3073 F Rd., 970/434-9814), where costumed docents demonstrate Grand Valley pioneer life. Also affiliated with this complex is the Dinosaur Journey Museum (550 Jurassic Ct., 970/858-7282) in nearby Fruita, where paleontology displays showcase fossils and cast dinosaur skeletons.
