Marquette Maritime Museum

Description

The Marquette Maritime Museum, a former Coast Guard station and lighthouse, sits on a promontory above Lake Superior (tours offered). In the museum, a map shows Lake Superior's shoreline dotted with dark blue confetti that marks the graves of more than 550 lost ships including the SS Edumund Fitzgerald.
