Le Chateau Frontenac

Description

This hotel is Quebec's most celebrated landmark. The imposing green-turreted castle with slanted copper roof is named after Louis de Buade, the Count of Frontenac, Governor of New France from 1672 to 1698. Built in 1893, the hotel is remarkably luxurious and furnished with European antiques. The hotel was completed in 1925 with the addition of the 18-story central tower.
