Lapham-Patterson House State Historic Site

A quintessential Victorian home, the beautifully crafted Lapham-Patterson House was built between 1884 and 1885 for C.W. Lapham, a Chicago shoe merchant. In its time, it was considered to be a state-of-the-art home, with advanced features such as indoor cold- and hot-water plumbing, gas lighting, and a double-flue chimney. It's open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 9 AM to 5 PM, Sundays from 2 to 5:30 PM; closed Mondays. Tours begin on the hour and last 45 minutes. Admission is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children (ages 6-18), and $4.50 for seniors (65+).
