Kensington Market

Fried bananas, squawking chickens, exotic fruits, and haggling shopkeepers await you in this bustling Old World shopping haven. Bolstered by wave after wave of immigrant settlers, Kensington is a truly international marketplace representing more than 30 different ethnic communities. The busy, narrow streets here are great for finding fresh foods and second-hand clothing; Saturday morning is the most happening (and crowded) time to cruise through the shops and stalls. Kensington Market is open 7 days a week excluding Christmas and New Years. It's located just north of Dundas between Spadina Avenue and Bathurst Street.
