Holla Bend National Wildlife Refuge

Description

Located on an old sandbar in an oxbow of the Arkansas River, this wetland refuge is home to white-tailed deer and migratory birds. Visitors come for birdwatching, hiking, fishing, and, in the fall, deer hunting with bows. Some of the refuge is planted in crops as part of a cooperative farming program. The refuge is located near Dardanelle State Park and Petit Jean Mountain.
