Historic New Harmony

Founded in 1814, Historic New Harmony has been the site of both a spiritual community and a utopian experiment. You can tour buildings dating from the periods of the two communal societies, dine at an award-winning restaurant, or attend a play at the Murphy Auditorium. Begin your visit at the Atheneum visitor centers, which has art, culture, and history exhibits as well as a large theater showing a film about the town. Meditate while you wander the labyrinth, shop at art galleries, or splurge on a gourmet meal at the Red Geranium. A must-do: Breakfast at the Main Café, where local farmers gather to gossip and sip coffee.
