Frontier Culture Museum of Virginia

Description

Located just outside Staunton, this outdoor living-history museum depicts life in pre-Civil War Shenandoah. Outdoor exhibits are actual 17th-, 18th-, and 19th-century farm buildings that were brought from Britain, Germany, and Virginia and carefully restored. Visitors get a hands-on experience of early immigrant life through interpretative programs and workshops such as sheep shearing and wool spinning.
