At Edisto Island Museum you'll find displays on sea island plantation life, the Civil War, and Native American history. Exhibits tell the stories of residents from days past, including James Jamerson, a young boy on the island in 1940s and '50s who went on to thrill a generation with his bass beat on "I Heard it Through the Grapevine.
