Deming Luna Mimbres Museum

There’s a lot to see here, from classic cars and military vehicles to old-time schoolroom memorabilia, medical instruments, farm implements, quilts, and lace. There’s also a chuck wagon exhibit and a Transportation Annex, highlighting the town’s ties to the transcontinental railroad and the famous “silver spike” hammered here back in 1881. The collection of Mimbres Indian pottery is renowned. Also popular are the Military, Doll, and Early 1900s rooms; the displays of minerals and geodes; and the selection of beer steins, bells, and unusual liquor bottles.
