Cossit House Museum

Description

The Cossit House museum was originally built in 1787, and is known as the oldest standing home in Sydney. Reverend Ranna Cossit, the first Anglican minister to live and work in Sydney, lived there with his family of ten children and his wife, Thankful. The house captures what life was like for families in this region in the late 1700s. Costumed staff members take you back into time by teaching visitors how to stitch a sampler or churn butter.
