Cornell Plantations

Cornell Plantations' natural areas and grounds are scattered throughout Cornell University's campus and the greater Ithaca, NY, area. If visitors stroll though the 150-acre F.R. Newman Arboretum, they can see a variety of trees and shrubs displayed in a pastoral setting. Another "must see" is Cascadillla Gorge, adjacent to Cornell's campus to the south, as well as the series of waterfalls along Fall Creek, which are next to campus to the north. The 25-acre botanical garden features a dozen themed or specialty gardens, including the Robison York State Herb Garden. At the herb garden, plants are in 17 beds arranged by their use. Cornell Plantations offers weekly "drop-in" public tours of the botanical garden from June to August, and group tours are also available upon request from May through October.
