Coquihalla Canyon Recreation Area

Description

This popular trail, designed to bridge the gap between the Kootenay Region and the British Columbia Coast in the 1900s, features tunnels and bridges perfect for hiking, viewing, picnicking, and fishing. Originally a route on the Canadian Pacific Railway, the Othello Tunnels run through a solid granite channel 300 feet below the Coquihalla Gorge. The railway runs over three mountain ranges for a park 159 hectares large.
