Cook Forest State Park

Description

A picturesque area bordering the Clarion River, Cook Forest State Park has one of the largest stands of virgin timber (white pine and hemlock) in the state. The park offers hiking trails and scenic views, horseback riding trails, hunting (in designated areas), fishing, swimming, snowmobiling, ice skating, sledding, and cross-country skiing. Camping sites, including some for the physically challenged, and cabins are available. A Pennsylvania state fishing license is required. Handicapped-accessible facilities are available. Pets: Pets are permitted at some Ridge Campground sites. Reservations and restrictions: Pennsylvania has a toll-free central reservation telephone number for all state campgrounds: 888-727-2757. No alcohol is permitted in any Pennsylvania state park or state-run campground. This ban is strictly enforced.
