Clinton's 1st Home

Hope is the birthplace of William Jefferson Blythe III, later to become the 42nd President of the United States. Today it draws those embarked on a "Billgrimage" to Clinton country. The Clinton Birthplace Home offers tours of the white foursquare house, interior restored to circa 1946 as it appeared during Clinton's childhood. Of all the places Clinton lived growing up, this is the one he thought of as home. A memorial garden is dedicated to Clinton's mother, Virginia Cassidy Blythe Clinton Kelley. An adjacent visitor center features photographs of Clinton's childhood in the context of friends, family, and events.
