Cliff Palace

With a natural high-elevation of 7,000 feet, Cliff Palace, a part of the Mesa Verde park system, is a village of once-inhabited residences carved into the mountain. An impressive 75% of the residences and carvings are in their original state with little restoration having been done. The museum highlights and displays the way of life of the Pueblan people who resided there over 800 years ago. Visitors to the site are welcomed and encouraged to walk around and explore the structures and artifacts for themselves. For more information and park operating hours, contact the Mesa Verde parks department or historical society.
