Clemens Center

Description

After a $19 million, recently completed renovation, the Clemens Center in Elmira, NY, has re-established itself as a premier performing arts venue in the southern Finger Lakes area. Two performance spaces offer different experiences. The Powers Theater, where most performances are held, seats 1,618 in a renovated vaudeville theater, complete with opera boxes and gold-leaf details. Mandeville Hall, which holds up to 200 people, is a small "black box" theater designed for more small-scale productions. In addition to touring Broadway shows such as Mamma Mia!, the Clemens Center offers a significant number of local performances including dance, theater, and a comedy series. The facility also partners with local educators to offer arts experiences to students from regional public and private schools, as well as preschool kids and home-schooled youth. The Clemens Center is in downtown Elmira at the intersection of East Gray Street and Clemens Center Parkway.
