Cheboygan Crib Lighthouse

Just shy of Lake Huron, the old Crib Lighthouse now sits on a pier about a mile from downtown, on the west side of the Cheboygan River. Originally the 25-foot white tower stood in the bay, but when its crib foundation settled and fell over, the townspeople brought it to shore and re-erected it on the pier. The Crib Light is open to the public on weekends during the summer season but you must contact the office at the River Front Range Light to request that it be unlocked (231-627-5516). To get to it, take Huron Street from Route 23 and drive straight to the lake.
