Cave Lake State Park

Description

This alpine park is home to pinon trees, junipers, and high mountain wildflowers. Cave Lake is a 32-acre reservoir where visitors can enjoy non-motorized boating, fishing (a Nevada fishing license is required), canoeing, and swimming if they're ready to brave the cold water. Facilities include two campgrounds with 36 campsites and hiking trails. The park is open year-round; water to campgrounds is on for nine months. In winter, visitors come for ice fishing, ice skating, and cross-country skiing.; in winter, several feet of snow falling in the park is common. The park is home to the White Pine Fire and Ice Show, a snow and ice sculpting competition held each January. Handicapped-accessible facilities are available. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted with restrictions. Reservations: Nominal daily park entrance fee.
